Short Documentary, 11 min
For a Night is a short documentary that explores the image of a woman as an online entity and its relation to the complex individual it represents. The work investigates the translation of an individual into an online persona that can be gazed at any time of the day messaged at any moment. In her long durational performance, the music and performance artist “Myrwood”, takes a seat in the window of the fashion house Vanderwilt in Amsterdam Centrum, where she will eat, sleep and live for the following five days while being showcased, with her phone number glowing on a red led sign. While being presented to the eyes of the passer-by’s at all hours of the day, she will stay online on numerous dating apps and online platforms all her waking hours. Among the people who message her, she invites those who want to meet up to Sexyland for a secret performance, on the same day and at the same hour.
